I had one that said they were going to send me a check in the mail and would pick up the car after I cashed the check. It didn't add up though cuz it was a 1300 dollar Honda with 217,000 miles, and they were willing to pay a 1500 dollar transport cost. Yeah...

had some older relatives almost get duped into buying a car for about a 10th of its blue book out of state with the promise it would be shipped FOR FREE to them. the topic came up sort of by accident, pretty sure if that chance conversation didn't happen they would have gone through with it

oh wow. You just can't trust any one any more. Even if you do meat some one in person things can go very wrong, but when you only talk over the phone or via Email you need to be 1000x more careful or call the deal off completely if they can't meet you face to face.
